A number of documents are regularly used in the shipping industry and, consequently, are often referred to in shipping disputes. These include:

1) Bills of lading; 

2) Letters of Undertaking to refrain from arresting a vessel;

3) Statements of Account; and 

4) Final Hire Statements.

Below, we attach some examples of each, so you can see what they look like. These include: 

​

1) A "CONGENBILL" bill of lading, produced by the Baltic and International Maritime Council ("BIMCO"). This is a charterparty bill of lading.
